1. Avatar Flight of Passage

There’s no denying that the Avatar Flight of Passage ride is the winner at Disney World. The details in this experience are lovely, from the use of water and motion to a story that will bring you to tears.

You’ll be tethered to an avatar and get the experience of riding a banshee above the moon of Pandora. Since its debut in 2017, this ride has consistently ranked the number one spot for the top 10 Disney World rides.

2. Pirates of the Caribbean

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride takes you through a compelling plotline: pirates have arrived in town and are seeking both treasure and Jack Sparrow. You’re taken on a thrilling boat road through burning villages, with cannon and gunfire. Be prepared that you might get a little splashed on in the process.

This ride isn’t scary, but the dramatics of it make it thrilling enough!

3. The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion ride is a classic Disney World experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. It’s a bit adult-themed – after all, a man hangs himself in the beginning and a woman murders a series of husbands, but it includes moments of comic relief too, like the hitchhiking ghosts.

The ride starts with a thrilling question – are we moving or is the room stretching? The entire passage is a remarkable stretch of the imagination, with riders wondering how they saw what they saw. Fantastic creativity and engineering pull off tricks like the never-ending staircase and hallway. Overall, an excellent show throughout the ride!

4. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

It definitely helps to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy all the details of this ride, but just about anyone can appreciate it for what it is. During the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride, passengers are taken through a journey of space and dark technology. The ride is immersive, including sounds, props, and many screens to help solidify the story.

5. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

One of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride’s unique features is that it starts before you’ve even gotten on. As you walk closer to the ride, you’ll begin to hear screams from passengers who are already on the ride and murmurs from the people in line questioning their decision. It’s a stark contrast against the otherwise pleasant and sunny Florida day.

You start in a library where it’s announced you’ll be taken into the Twilight Zone. After going into a boiler room and getting on the elevators, the ride officially begins. The story takes place in glamourous Hollywood and is set in a hotel.

This ride also includes a “fourth dimension” aspect, where the ride vehicles move horizontally through the ride building.

This ride has a randomized drop sequence, so you can ride it repeatedly and still not know what is to come.

6. Kilimanjaro Safaris

It’s impressive how accurate Disney World has made the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride. Every time you take the ride, you’ll have a slightly different experience. For example, if you go once during the day and then again at night, you’ll get different weather patterns! You’ll also see different animals every time.

Open-air vehicles take you through a very convincing lush African safari full of exotic animals. Animal Kingdom is an official zoo, so the animals are very much real. However, unlike a zoo, this ride allows you to get much closer to the animals!

7. It’s a Small World

The It’s a Small World ride is another Disney World classic. This water-based boat ride takes you through different countries worldwide while singing the catchy classic song.

The ride was originally set to be refurbished in 2020 to include Disney characters, but it’s unclear whether construction has been delayed. Either way, we can expect significant changes for this classic ride sometime soon!

8. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a shorter ride than other rides at Disney World, but it’s still immensely fun. The train cars are designed in a way that makes them feel like they’re swaying to the right and left, which feels very comparable to a real train.

Passengers can expect a dark ride component that adds an extra layer of fun and makes this ride more than just zipping quickly around a mountain.

9. Spaceship Earth

Besides being a fun ride, Spaceship Earth tells an excellent story in immense detail. Passengers are taken through a journey of how far the human race has come, from ancient hunters trying to down a wooly mammoth to a present-day setting.

This ride has a long history at Disney World, originally opening in 1982. Despite several decades passing, the ride holds its glamour to this day.

It’s a simple, captivating story that ends with all the passengers falling down a drop and being splashed. A perfect refresher on a scorching hot day!
