Keep reading to find out the six best takeout options in Calgary, Alberta. By the end of this list, you’ll know exactly where you’re ordering from next time you’re getting takeout.

1. Boogies’ Burgers

Location: 2129 33 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2T 1Z7

Our favourite dish: Doug’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper” Burger

Give them a call: (403) 454-2902

A good burger is something we all need every once in a while. Or, perhaps a little more often than that. If your takeout meal is going to be a burger, we strongly suggest you consider Boogies’ Burgers.

Boogies’ Burgers is probably one of the top burger spots in all of Calgary. With over 850 reviews on Google and counting, Boogies’ Burgers offers high-quality burgers that hit that greasy craving you’ve had all week long. All of the beef burgers are all made with 100% Albertan beef. Additionally, there are vegetarian, salmon, and chicken burger options. The buns are fresh, the toppings are unique, and the tater tots win us over every time.

And, we can’t forget to mention the milkshake menu!

Boogies’ Burgers has two locations to choose from in Renfrew and in the Marda Loop.

2. Without Papers

Location: 1216 9 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0T1

Our favourite dish: Hog Wild

Give them a call: (403) 457-1154

What takeout list would be complete without a pizza option? Without Papers offers customers handmade, fresh pizza that has been voted the “best pizza in YYC.” You’ll find both classic pizzas on their menu, as well as creative inventions. Without Papers is not the cheapest pizza in town, but it’s definitely worth it! We recommend this takeout option when you want to do a fancy date night or celebrate something.

If you fall in love with Without Papers, don’t forget to check out their sister restaurant Pow Pizza, which serves Detroit-style square pizzas.

3. Ten Foot Henry

Location: 1209 1 St SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0V3

Our favourite dish: Bucantini Cacio e Pepe

Give them a call: (403) 475-5537

Search up the best restaurants in Calgary and you’re almost guaranteed to find Ten Foot Henry on every list. Although this restaurant is known for its fantastic atmosphere, that doesn’t mean it’s not a solid take out option.

This restaurant offers well-thought dishes that are “vegetable-forward,” making comfort food that is also nutritious. Ten Foot Henry’s menu is meant for “family-style dining,” so we strongly encourage ordering 2-3 dishes per person.

4. The Himalayan

Location: 3218 17 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T3E 0B3

Our favourite dish: Chicken/Veg/Pork Momo (Steamed Nepali Dumplings)

Give them a call: (403) 984-3384

If you’re looking for a takeout meal full of spice and flavor, turn to the Himalayan. This restaurant offers amazing Nepalese food that has won the hearts of just about every Calgarian. This restaurant can deliver comfort food that will make all your problems melt away.

An added benefit is how versatile and accommodating the menu at the Himalayan is. They let you choose your spice level, identify which items are vegan or gluten-free, and offer to accommodate allergies.

5. Cluck N’ Cleaver

Location: 1511 14 St SW, Calgary, AB T2G 1E1

Our Favourite Dish: Mother Clucker Sandwich

Give them a call: (403) 266-2067

The Cluck N’ Cleaver is a take-out chicken joint owned and operated by a sister dream-team. Nicole Gomes is the Chief Chicken Officer and Francine Gomes is the Director of Poultry.

If you’re looking for a chicken that reminds you of the KFC menu but is actually good quality, you’ve found your place. The menu offers family packs of fried chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, rotisserie, biscuits, milkshakes, and other sides. There are salads too, but we have a feeling you’re not going to come here for the salad.

The prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are plenty, and the food quality is unbelievable.

6. The Brok’in Yolk

Location: 12580 Symons Valley Rd NW #130, Calgary, AB T3P 0A3

Our favourite dish: Truffle, Ham, and Wild Mushroom Breakfast Poutine

Give them a call: (587) 317-5743

Sometimes a weekend morning calls for an order of breakfast takeout. The Brok’in Yolk offers a locally sourced, farm to table menu that would impress any local or town visitor. In fact, the restaurant has been so successful that it has now expanded to three locations: Creekside, Mahogany, and Signal Hill.

We also recommend the Brok’in Yolk for takeout because that way, you get to avoid the typical one-hour plus wait that happens every weekend.

The restaurant serves all the breakfast classics, along with some surprises. The menu often changes, but some of the ingenious menu items have included breakfast poutine with duck fat, a spam breakfast bowl, and apple pie french toast.
