Brazil is one of the most exciting countries in South America. There is plenty to see and do, with adventure in abundance. If you’re looking for some adrenaline-inducing vacation plans on your next trip, try one of these Brazilian activities.
1. Go Surfing in Florianopolis
This is one of the best spots in Brazil for surfing. Located in the South in Santa Catarina, the waters can be a bit cold for part of the year – try to visit between November and March. There’s a lot of nightlife on the island as well, so you’ll have something to do in the evening. Check out the surf camp put on by Brazil Surfing Adventures for more information.
2. Scuba Dive at Fernando de Noronha
These 21 islands contain the best diving in Brazil, hands down. The visibility reaches 50m in all directions. The waters are warm, and there are plenty of fish, eels, sharks, turtles, and other wildlife to enjoy. It’s also home to a sunken battleship that is the highlight of the area. Atlantis Divers will show you all the secret places.
3. Kite Surf at Cumbuco
With wind every day and wide, sandy kitesurf beaches, Brazil might just be the best place in the world for kite surfing. Kite Lagoon in Cumbuco is a great place to test the waters. From August to December, the wind blows constantly between 18-24 knots. Lessons are available from Kite School Windtown and well worth the investment.
4. Hang Glide in Rio de Janiero
Rio has a lot to offer. Copacabana, Sugar Loaf, Corcovado, Ipanema, Lagoa – why not take it all in from a few thousand feet up? Hang gliding has become one of the most popular activities in Rio, it shouldn’t be missed if you love adventure.
5. Go White Water Rafting on the Mambucaba
Spend a full day paddling down some of the best rapids in Brazil. Mambucaba flows especially heavy in the rainy season, so keep that in mind if you’re visiting between December and February. White water rafting is an amazing experience you won’t want to miss in Brazil.
