Mothers day Vacations

Mothers are always there for us and do so much for us. And every year, Mother’s Day is a reminder that we should give back to our moms. If you don’t have a gift in mind yet, consider booking your mom a weekend getaway. It’ll be the perfect opportunity for her to relax, have fun, and maybe even try something new.

1. Wine Tours Throughout Napa Valley

If your mom loves a nice glass of wine, consider taking her to Napa Valley. You can book tours that will pick you up, take you to several wineries, and drop you off back at your hotel after. You and your mother will get to enjoy the warm California sun, see luxurious winery estates, and taste some of the best wines in the country.

There are plenty of wineries to see, but we highly recommend going to Monticello Vineyards and Trefethen Family Vineyards.

2. Gambling, Shopping, and Shows in Vegas

Is your mom the type to prefer a high-energy weekend? Then Vegas might be the perfect spot. A weekend in Vegas will fly by as you both gamble, go shopping, and relax by the pools. And don’t forget to catch some shows in the evenings.

3. Stay in a Castle in California

You can give your mother one of the most unique and luxurious experiences of her life with a weekend stay at Chateau du Sureau. This five-star resort looks like a castle – so your mom can feel like the queen she is. Staying here will make her feel like she’s flown to Europe for the weekend. This nine-acre property includes a spa, restaurant, and bar onsite. It’s also close to Yosemite National Park if you want to take a break on one of the days and go exploring.

We recommend looking at the packages offered by Chateau du Sureau for a stress-free booking.

4. Book a Weekend Yoga Retreat

A yoga retreat might be the perfect escape for you and your mom. You get to relax, stay active, and enjoy quality time together. One of our favorite yoga retreat centers is the Big Sky Yoga Retreat in Montana. The facility offers several types of yoga retreats, but the packages typically include lodging, daily yoga, gourmet meals and wine, horseback riding, wildlife watching, and more! It’ll be a weekend neither of you ever forget!

5. A Culinary Tour in New Orleans

New Orleans has a reputation for being a foodie town – and with good reason. If you and your mom are foodies, spend an entire weekend eating your way through this city. You’ll get to try straight-out-of-the-fryer beignets, local staples like Po’boys, fresh seafood dishes, and authentic gumbo.

Our insider tip? Make sure you book a reservation at Commander’s Palace for their famous jazz brunch! Your mom will love the experience!

Round out the experience by booking a room in the French Quarter, so you’re in the middle of all the action! And, when you need a break from all the eating and drinking, consider booking a river cruise or paddleboat so you can sail down the river.

6. Golf, Spas, and Pools in Sedona, AZ

Sedona draws in both young and older people because the city has so much to offer everyone. If you want a simple weekend away with your mom, consider going to Arizona and booking your days full of relaxing activities.

Start by booking a hotel or Airbnb with a pool, spend an afternoon golfing, and book some treatments at Amara Resort and Spa. There are a handful of impressive wineries in Sedona, so reserve some time for wine tastings too!

7. Explore a National Park

If your mom is active and loves nature, consider planning a weekend getaway to explore a national park. You can choose any national park – Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon – and make a road trip out of it. Book an overnight stay close to the park, spend the whole day conquering the park, and go back to your hotel for a nice dinner when you’re done. Sometimes the simplest trips are the most memorable.

8. A ‘New York City Weekend on the Town’

New York City is always impressive, regardless of how many times you’ve been before. There’s so much food, culture, and entertainment. You and your mom can spend a weekend shopping, going to a Broadway show, visiting the Met, and eating fantastic food.

Our recommendation is to try to plan some of your activities beforehand and book your hotel based on the itinerary. If you’re only in NYC for a few days, the last thing you want to do is spend most of your days dealing with traffic or subway rides all over the city.

9. Relax and Enjoy the History in St. Augustine

Surprisingly, it’s taken us up until option nine to mention a beach getaway! But sometimes a few days relaxing on a hot beach is exactly what your mom needs. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States and can feel like a Caribbean escape. Spend a day relaxing on the beautiful St. Augustine beach. If you want to explore the area, consider taking a scenic boat ride down the coast. You can also check out the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, a 17th-century fortress with drawbridges!

St. Augustine is a great weekend option that people often overlook!

10. Explore Quaint Camden, Maine

Camden, Maine is another wonderful getaway that is often overlooked but has a lot to offer. You and your mom can spend days exploring the local galleries, boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants. Some of our recommendations include staying in a charming B&B, booking a sailing excursion, and eating as much fresh seafood as possible! You can also drive out to Camden Hills State Park to explore the 30-miles of trails that give you scenic views of the town.

Make sure you book something soon and make your mom’s year! Too late to book something for this Mother’s Day? Make a note of your favorite option and save it for next year instead.
