Note: This list is unpretentious, unapologetic, and honestly – probably unlike any of the other “Best Restaurants in Seattle” lists you’ve read. The restaurants featured are simply a few of our favorite spots in Seattle. Again – we make no apologies.

Seattle is quickly becoming one of the best cities for food in America. Creative Chefs are opening fantastic restaurants every month, while more established restaurants have nearly perfected their craft. Here’s a look at where to eat when visiting Seattle for a weekend trip – come with an appetite when touring the Pacific Northwest.

1. The Walrus and the Carpenter

This is the ultimate spot for oysters, with an oyster happy hour running on Monday to Thursday from 4PM-6PM. They also offer some of the finest local cheeses in Washington, and a steak tartare that’s out of this world. This is a great restaurant to come to for those who like sharing plates and want to taste a bit of everything Washington state has to offer. Their fried oysters with cilantro aioli are pictured below.

2. Biscuit Bitch

Open 7Am-2PM Monday to Friday, and 8AM-3PM on weekends, Kimmie Spice describes her restaurant as “not fancy, but it’s homemade, filling and well-priced.” The Southern-style biscuits are truly some of the best we’ve tried – any of the biscuits and gravy menu items will leave you satisfied.

3. Pike Place Chowder

This stuff is world famous. If you’ve never been, they’re located right in Pike Place Market, and you must try their staple New England Clam Chowder. If this is your second visit, the Market Chowder (featuring the Chef’s choice of ingredients) and Seafood Bisque are also must tastes. If you’re the type who can’t decide, they offer a sampler of up to four 5 ounce cups. so you can get a feel for all of their chowders. Still hungry? A lobster roll won’t disappoint.

4. Canlis

For upscale dining, Canlis is a perfect restaurant. Casual attire is not appropriate – Canlis maintains a tradition of being the dressiest restaurant in Seattle. They offer a preset menu but can accommodate for allergies and dietary restrictions. Of the main courses, the Berkshire Pork, 28-day dry-aged Muscovy Duck Breast, and Wagyu Filet Mignon are all divine.

5. Dick’s Drive-In

Seriously. While it may not be in the same category as the restaurants mentioned above, for what it is – it’s perfect. Unchanged since the 1950s, Dick’s Drive-In serves fresh burgers that have a cult following in the Pacific Northwest. On top of their fresh burgers, their hand-dipped shakes and fresh cut real potato fries are on point. It’s open late, so there’s no excuse not to visit.

6. Din Tai Fung

Located in University Village, Din Tai Fung specializes in soup dumplings and noodles. They come highly recommended, with Forbes Magazine naming them “the world’s greatest dumplings,” and Zagat claiming they’re serving up “little morsels of heaven.” The sweet and sour spare ribs are another item you need to try.
